Program Focus Hotel-Restaurant Management is a two-year program designed
to prepare students for the hospitality industry. The classroom
experience gives the students essential knowledge to help them
progress in the hotel-restaurant field. Internships, work experience
and field trips provide meaningful experiences for students to relate
to classroom work. Students participate in
Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX). Also, students
have the opportunity to earn recognition
from the Educational Institute of the
American Hotel and Lodging Association
(AH&LA) and Educational Foundation of
the National Restaurant Association.
The program offers the opportunity to
gain valuable experience by catering
various types of events. Students complete two extensive industry
work experiences. The work experience is completed during the
freshman year and is designed to expose the student to the operation
of a hospitality business. The sophomore year internship provides
the student with on-the-job training under the supervision of a
training sponsor. Students complete a series of training plans and
gain valuable industry experience. |
Qualifications High school courses in bookkeeping, typing, sales, math and speech
are beneficial but are not required. |
