Fin Cred Mngt Focal

Program Focus
Finance and Credit Mnagement is a program developed by bankers and agricultural, retail, commercial and consumer credit experts. It is designed for students who have the aptitude and interest in financial and business management. During the first nine months, Finance and Credit Management students complete core courses. The second phase is intended for the mid-management training. During the final phase of the program, the Finance and Credit Management instructor/coordinator supervises the students on a full-time internship for two months. Students work for a financial institution or business of their choice as approved by the college. The training sponsor evaluates the student’s performance on the job. Students are paid during their internship and receive credit for successful completion. Internships often result in permanent employment.
Qualifications
Since many careers involve contact with customers, graduates need good human relations skills. Previous courses in bookkeeping, accounting, and business math during or since high school are desirable but not required. Graduates are involved in handling money and must meet bonding company standards.
