Adam Klinkner was elected in December to serve as a state officer at large for Minnesota SkillsUSA. Following the election, he participated in special training which allowed him to run for and be elected President of Minnesota SkillsUSA. Elections for the position were held at the annual SkillsUSA Delegate Conference in Alexandria, MN. Adam campaigned and spoke to student members from across the state.

As a state officer, Adam will be a student leader, state spokesperson, and ambassador for the organization according to Jennifer Polz, SkillsUSA state director. He will use his strong leadership skills while participating in industry tours and speak about SkillsUSA to students, instructors, and business representatives throughout his year of service.

Polz said that SkillsUSA members must be nominated by their school and local training program, receive support from their administration, and submit three letters of recommendation in order to run for the position. In addition, they must pass an online knowledge test and complete an officer application prior to attending the SkillsUSA Delegate Conference.

Adam Klinkner is enrolled in the Machine Tool Technology and Mechanical Drafting, Design, and Engineering programs at Alexandria Technical & Community College. Adam is the son of Brad and Michelle Klinkner of Garfield, MN.

SkillsUSA is a national non-profit organization that serves teachers, high school students, and college students preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations.
