
Program Overview
The Fashion Management program is designed to prepare students for a successful career in the fashion industry. The program consists of 72 credits, which include classroom instruction focusing on fashion merchandising and management, visual presentation, store management, and marketing strategies. Classroom instruction is followed by an internship where students are assisted with placement into various retail stores for on the job experience in the field of fashion retail sales and management.
For other fashion education alternatives, see the Business Management AAS degree with fashion classes as electives or the option of pursuing a Fashion Management concentration within the Business Management degree.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Fashion Management program should have a strong interest in people, fashion, enjoy a fast pace and challenges. Previous work experience in a retail store is helpful prior to enrolling in the program. Persons interested in the Fashion Management program should understand that the two essential elements for a successful fashion/retail career are a willingness to develop leadership/management skills and flexibility in locating where career opportunities exist.
