Registered nursing is a rewarding career. According to the Minnesota Department of Economic Development, the job outlook for registered nurses is "excellent." Minnesota has a great number of potential employers and many of them are finding it difficult to hire as many registered nurses as they need. Employment opportunities look excellent and the potential for job mobility appears to equally positive.

The State of Minnesota's Investigate Careers website states, "There is statewide shortage of nurses, especially in long-term care. Demand is also high for critical care, intensive care, and emergency care."
