Careers
Graduates of the Finance and Credit program have a wide variety of job opportunities. They may work for banks or savings and loans, credit institutions, collection agencies, mortgage bankers, real estate abstract and title companies, or other businesses. According to the Minnesota Bankers Association and others in the finance and credit industry, there is a solid demand for trained employees.
Employment
The Minnesota Bankers Association, farm credit services, savings and loan associations, credit unions, consumer finance companies and business firms have indicated that there is a substantial demand for finance and credit trainees, who can expect more challenge and responsibility than individuals with no previous training. The graduate may work in several different aspects of the business and then specialize in one (e.g., agriculture loans, installment credit sales, insurance, real estate loans, commercial lending, agri-business and small business management).
This program is especially designed to train potential loan officers and credit managers in the broad field of credit. While it is business and marketing oriented, the emphasis is placed on the extension and collection of credit, computer usage, sales and business management.
