Alexandria Technical College Students Successfully Compete at International Conference

Students from the Business Management and Marketing programs at Alexandria Technical College competed at the Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) International Career Development Conference held in Anaheim, CA in April. Twenty-four students competed with eight of them qualifying to compete in the finals.

Ron Krafka finished 1st in Sales Manager Meeting.

Seven students finished in the Top 10, -- John Hayes, Sales Representative; Christine Ahrens-Fischer, Hospitality Management; Thomas Van Wakeren, Financial Services; Teela Omtvedt and Emily Simonson, Financial Statement Analysis; and Dustin Citrowske and Judy Thoennes, Financial Statement Analysis.

Competitive events supported by DEX propel winners from local to state levels and finally to the international level. The success, confidence, recognition, and awards that students earn in this program are crucial to their success in marketing careers.

The Alexandria Technical College chapter was also recognized with a Passport Executive Award, a program designed to recognize chapters that are active in all four points of the DECA diamond – Civic consciousness, Social intelligence, Vocational understanding, and Leadership development.
