How to Begin
All other applicants:
Application:
You will first need to fill out an application. Applications can be filled out online, printed, or you may request an application be sent to you by mail.
Campus Visit:
We invite you to make a campus visit by calling 1-888-234-1222 ext. 4520, 320-762-4520, or email us to schedule an appointment. Making an appointment insures an instructor and/or an enrollment specialist will be available to meet with you.
An important part of choosing the right college is to make a campus visit. Campus visits are scheduled Monday-Friday. During your visit, you will meet with an instructor from the program(s) you are interested in. The instructor will give you a tour of the program area, explain required courses, discuss industry/career options, and answer your questions. Additionally you will meet with an enrollment specialist who will explain the acceptance process, program costs, financial aid, housing, student life activities, school calendar, and other services offered by the college. It is our goal at the end of your visit that you will have the information necessary to make your final decision.
If you choose to apply online or send in a paper application, you will automatically be contacted by the Admissions Office with a date and time to come for a campus visit.
Some programs fill up quickly, and we take applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Please don't wait to schedule a campus visit.
Transcripts:
A copy of your high school transcript or GED is necessary. You may download a High School Transcript Request Form to send to your high school. If you don't have a high school diploma or GED, you can prove ability to benefit from post-high school education by scoring at a federally established level on an approved test. Please contact the Testing Center to schedule a testing appointment.
If you have received credits from another college, you also need to have an official copy of your transcript mailed to ATC. You may download a College Transcript Request Form.
If you have transfer questions, please contact the Transfer Specialist, at transfer@alextech.edu, 888-234-1222, Ext. 4483 or 320-762-4483.
Application Fee:
There is a $20 non-refundable application fee for enrollment into any of our programs & majors. The application fee does not need to be paid until you want to secure a spot in a program.
Additional Program Requirements:
These may be requested prior to your visit or will be discussed at the campus visit and vary by program.
Financial Aid:
Financial aid is intended to help students and their families pay for education. For more information see our Financial Aid Office.
Placement Testing:
Accuplacer is a basic skills assessment. Students are tested in the areas of writing, math, and reading. Students will not be able to register until they have completed the assessment. For more information, visit the Testing Center. Students with specific previous college coursework or who have taken the ACT may not be required to take Accuplacer.
