   Alexandria Technical College's Truck Driving program will prepare you for a rewarding career in this growing field. Students learn the operation of forklifts, dump, straight and semi-trailer trucks. In addition, there is training in defensive driving, rules and regulations and maintenance. ATC's Truck Driving program strives to prepare safe, responsible and skilled professionals.
   The U.S. Department of Labor estimates a need for an additional half million truck drivers. In fact, truck driving is one of the top 20 occupations with the largest projected employment growth in Minnesota. The industry's average salary for experienced drivers is $40,000 per year, while first year drivers can expect to earn $25,000-$30,000. Few occupations offer more opportunity after 16 weeks of training.
   Alexandria Technical College's Truck Driving program is supported by and a member of the Minnesota Truckers Association, Minnesota Safety Council and the Minnesota Motor Transport Association.
